Eyes on Petone is here to help with your eye care and eye wear. Optometry is a combination of healthcare, fashion and safety.

Our optometrists

Our optometrists take the time to do a thorough examination, covering your vision and the health of your eyes. We listen to you and will outline your healthcare options.

While the standard eye chart is similar to what your great-great-grandparents would be familiar with (updated to a digital screen that can show a range of different charts, rather than a bit of cardboard taped to the wall), an Eyes on Petone exam uses new technology to cover much more.

Available options

If you need new glasses, contact lenses, or your vision has changed, our opticians can help you with the choices.

Glasses need to be functional but they’re also fashionable.

We have a wide range of lens options for a wide range of uses and budgets. Glass or plastic, thick or thin, single-vision or progressives, with different tints and anti-reflective coatings.

Styles to suit

Eyes on Petone has a large stock of spectacle frames, from conservative to funky, minimalist to flashy, with or without sunglass add-ons.

We have cool and sturdy frames suitable for children, and can also help with options for sport or safety glasses.

Depending on your lifestyle and use, you may find contact lenses to be a good choice. There are lots of options here too, so our skilled team can help you navigate through the choices.

COVID-19 - staying safe at Eyes on Petone.

Formal COVID-19 restrictions have passed, but we’re still keeping our customers and team safe.

The shop areas of Eyes on Petone are like other retail stores - no masks are required.

Our optometrists’ testing room and optician’s room are more like medical practices, as we tend to be in close proximity with patients. Our team is all vaccinated and wears masks when appropriate. Feel free to also wear a mask if you prefer.

Please don’t come in-store if you have COVID-19, flu-like symptoms, or are isolating. Phone us to discuss arrangements.
